What You Said, What We Did

This is where you'll find information on how your views and opinions have helped to shape our services. Here are some examples:

What You Said What We Did

Wythenshawe women told us they wanted the opportunity to have breast screening appointments in Wythenshawe.

In January 2011, the Breast Screening Unit returned to Wythenshawe Forum for local women to attend their routine breast screening appointments. By listening to local women and taking action, this resulted in a 7% increase in attendance. NHS Manchester would like to thank all the women who took the time to let us know their views.

Visitors to Withington Community Hospital told us they would like more privacy in the waiting room at the Palatine Centre (the sexual health clinic at the hospital).

Three screens have now been put in place at the Palatine Centre. These screens provide privacy for patients booking in at the reception desk, reduce sound from the clinic rooms and ensure that patients waiting cannot be seen from the main corridor.

You asked us to look into: Providing NHS Dentistry in South Manchester (i.e. Chorlton). "For 2 years I have been unable to get an NHS dentist, despite newspapers telling me that NHS availability is improving nationwide. In all the places I have lived Manchester is the only one where NHS dentists have been unavailable."

In order to improve patient access to NHS Dental Services, NHS Manchester has commissioned additional capacity across the city, including the Chorlton area. Patients are encouraged to contact the PCT Dental Helpline, provided by NHS Direct, in order to obtain advice and support in accessing these services. The Dental Helpline number is: 0161 230 6011.
